NewPath Offers Opportunities For Individuals & Groups To Volunteer

 

Volunteering is a great opportunity to foster relationships with co-workers, church members or even meet new people, all while contributing to a worthy cause.

Groups, companies, clubs and individuals are invited to volunteer on or off campus. There are an abundance of ways you can volunteer your time to make an impact! If any of the volunteer opportunities below interest to you, we would love to hear from you! Please feel free to share any other ideas or talents you have. To volunteer on campus you must be at least 18 years old.

Group Volunteer Opportunities:

 

– Host Weeknight Party & Dinner:

  • Host a dinner party for our children in Residential Interventions
  • Plan Dinner and Activity: organized crafts or a game in the gym
  • Approximately 34 children, plus staff – total of 50 people
  • Monday through Thursday Evening’s from 5:00 – 7:00PM
  • Please consider healthy food options
  • Please avoid: gum, suckers, and all peanut butter products
  • Max of 15 volunteers may participate in this opportunity – 18 years or older only

– Host a Holiday Themed Party:

  • Elementary & Middle School Education Program, (K-8th grade): West Campus
    • Plan a holiday party for our younger students – Valentines day, St. Patrick’s Day, Thanksgiving, etc.
    • Host during school hours; Monday through Thursday mornings, 9-10:00AM
    • Party location is Recreation Room; air hockey, ping pong, organized theme crafts and activities are encouraged
    • Please provide healthy treat or goodie bag for approximately 50 children
    • Please avoid: gum, suckers, and all peanut butter products
    • Afternoon times available if providing lunch with the activity; 10:30-11:20AM
    • 10 volunteers max may participate in this opportunity
    • Note: this opportunity is only open during the school year – 18 years or older only
  • High School Education Program, (9-12th grade): East Campus
    • Plan a holiday party for our teen students – Valentines day, St. Patrick’s Day, Thanksgiving, etc.
    • Host during school hours Monday through Thursday
    • Available 1 hour time slots between 11:00AM-1:00PM, specific day/time arranged
    • Gym available to play kickball, basketball, corn hole etc., upon request – activities are encouraged
    • Please provide treats/goodie bags for approximately 35 young adults/teens
    • Please avoid: gum, suckers, and all peanut butter products
    • 10 volunteers max may participate in this opportunity
    • Note: this opportunity is only open during the school year – 18 years or older only

– Host a After School Party:

  • Host a gathering for our after school program, Connections
  • Opportunity for Tuesday or Thursday evenings; 5:00PM-6:00PM
  • Recreation Room, Cafeteria and Gym available; air hockey, ping pong, organized activities are encouraged
  • Please provide a healthy a snack for approximately 20 children
  • Small groups encouraged, max of 5 volunteers may participate in this opportunity
  • Note: this opportunity is only open during the school year – 18 years or older only

– Plan Work Service Project:

Great for large groups, corporate volunteers, church groups, clubs, etc.

  • Upon availability, landscaping, cleaning, painting, and organizing projects can be scheduled
  • Monday through Thursday between 8:00AM – 4:00PM
  • Opportunity can take place at East or West Campus
  • We encourage groups to bring their own materials for these projects
  • Please reach out and being coordinating with us a least a month in advance of your desired date of service to allow for planning

Individual Volunteer Opportunities:

 

 

– Admin Tasks Volunteer:

  • Upon open availability
  • Volunteer provides administrative support; scanning files, organizing, and sorting
  • Offer support to education staff; running copies, creating packets for student use, laminating, etc.
  • Other tasks as assigned or as need arises

– Capstone Projects:

  • Be creative!
  • We encourage student to reach out with a few ideas for projects
  • Come to us with ideas for a project and we will help you achieve it
  • Examples of successful past Capstone projects:
    • Christmas toy drive – student organizes an in-kind donation drive, achieve a goal number of items collected
    • Design activity packets for teacher use – student creates several worksheets and activities for teacher to use in their classrooms
    • General Items Drive – student organizes a general need drive, achieve a goal number of items collected
    • Build frame work for a potential program – student designs a new volunteer opportunity, works through the details and presents to Volunteer Coordinator

  • Please note all donations must be new and unused
