A Message from NewPath’s Chief Impact Officer

With the changing leaves and winter’s chill right around the corner, autumn is a time of gratitude and reflection. NewPath is immensely grateful for all our donors and supporters who continuously show up for the youth in our services, both physically as volunteers and symbolically through donations.

After our move to NewPath’s new location, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on some of the successes we have seen so far.

  • 92% of our staff had completed EQ2 training to improve our crisis intervention strategy agency-wide.
  • 12 hiring events are scheduled between the Fall of 2024 and Spring of 2025 to support the growth of all of our programs.
  • Our annual gala raised a record amount of $110,788 to support our mission and provide hope to the youth in our care.
  • We are making progress on our goal of expanding our Residential program to provide safety for more youth at risk of harming themselves or others by gaining the coping skills and healing needed to transition back home.
  • As a result of combining our two schools into one location, NewPath Academy is seeing improved attendance.

Thank you again for all of your continued support and for joining us each year to Ignite Hope and Change Futures.

Supporter Spotlights

Empowering Donor Spotlight – Paxton Ballard

Paxton and her mom, Brittany, came for a tour of our new location a few weeks ago. After the tour, she handed over an envelope with $105 in ones and fives. Paxton saved up her allowance and decided to donate it rather than use it for “something she doesn’t really need.” She has an old soul. Paxton sees the big picture. She is wise enough to know that one person can make a huge impact and can teach others to do the same. A big thank you to Paxton for saving her allowance and using it to invest in hope for the children, teens, and families at NewPath.

“I have everything I need: somewhere to live, food, clothes, and I pretty much get anything I ask for. Even though I work for my allowance, I really don’t need it. I want it to go to a place where it can be used to improve someone else’s life.“ – Paxton Ballard

Impactful Corporate Partnerships – GE Aerospace

GE Aerospace recently began partnering with NewPath this year but has quickly started to make a major impact in our organization. They are covering the cost of Thanksgiving dinner for both NewPath Academy students and the youth in our Residential programming. Additonally, their team is volunteering to serve the food and help make the holiday fun for our clients!

“Since day one of Bryan Houser and his team walking through NewPath’s doors, they’ve been eager to jump in and make a difference. Between covering the costs for Thanksgiving meals for our clients to giving a monetary donation the first day we met in person, they’ve been a shining light in our community. We are so excited to continue our partnership with them in the future!“ – Allie Daria, Corporate Partnership Coordinator

Client Story

Working toward Independence

Mya* has been enrolled in NewPath’s My First Place program since September 2022. She initially joined our program with her sister and shared a two-bedroom apartment. Mya and her sister began to struggle with program violations such as visitor issues, cleanliness, education, and even possible eviction.

After working with NewPath’s team, she realized that living with her sister was holding her back. Mya’s Housing Specialist helped her locate a new apartment. A Youth Advocate helped her work through her social anxiety and emotional challenges. Finally, her Education and Employment Specialist provided the resources Mya needed to graduate high school and obtain a job.

Together with NewPath’s team of experts, Mya has found her independence and is successfully transitioning into adulthood.

Holiday wish program

October-December

Many NewPath youth never get to encounter a meaningful winter holiday experience due to circumstances beyond their control. As a result, NewPath Child & Family Solutions provides holiday fun to 600+ children, teens, and young adults so they are able to experience the joy of the season, many for the first time.

Cincinnati Gives

December 2-12, 2024

From December 2-12, NewPath will participate in a friendly competition with local nonprofits to win additional funds to further our mission of Igniting Hope. Changing Futures. Strengthen your investment by donating during the Cincinnati Gives campaign, helping NewPath earn additional matching funds. Do more with every dollar—more for every child, every client, and our community.

Louie the Lion

NewPath’s Cuddliest Team Member

Meet Louie the Lion, NewPath’s newest and cuddliest team member. He might seem like just a little stuffed lion, but he has BIG responsibilities. For many, the lion symbolizes bravery and strength. For enrolled NewPath youth, Louie also represents HOPE. NewPath is a positive source of renewal, where children and families turn to recover and rebuild strength in the aftermath of traumatic situations.
