Recent Changes to Leadership

John Parran

Chief Operating Officer

As Chief Operating Officer, John leads our services, strategy, and employee engagement functions, building upon the passion, purpose, and rich history that makes NewPath a great place to work. He believes “people are at the heart of everything we do.” John continues to serve on various local workforce development and career services committees and is a featured guest speaker for local colleges and business councils. John received his B.A. in Communication from the University of Cincinnati and his M.S. in Executive Leadership and Organizational Change from Northern Kentucky University.

Bernice Gaiter

Senior Director of Quality & Strategy

Bernice is the Senior Director of Quality & Strategy and is responsible for collaborating with the leadership teams to develop advanced and complete agency-wide initiatives. She is a graduate of Gannon University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. Bernice is joining the NewPath family from River City Correctional Center and has worked in the field for 19 years. She has learned multiple facets of behavior modification, treatment, auditing, and administration. Bernice is excited to transition into a career focused on shaping children’s behavior patterns and being a part of providing them a brighter future.

Brandy Desenberg

Senior Director of Services

Brandy is the Senior Director of Services for Outpatient Mental Health, Day Programs, and Medical. She is a graduate of Miami University and the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Social Work. She has been with NewPath since 2011 and practicing in the field since 2008. Beginning as a case manager and therapist, Brandy has a passion for ensuring children and families have access to high quality care at the time they need it.

Esther Urick

Senior Director of Services

Esther is the Senior Director of Services for Foster Care, Independent Living, and Residential Interventions. She created the Independent Living Program and oversaw the implementation of several transition-aged youth programs such as the Transition to Independence Process (TIP), Bridges, My First Place, and Journey Housing. Currently, she directs the foster care programs in the Cincinnati and Dayton areas. She is motivated to provide children and young adults not only with safe and secure homes but also to improve their lives and instill them with hope for their futures.
