St Joseph Orphanage, the oldest social service agency serving children, adolescents and families in Southwest Ohio has an exciting opportunity for a Medical Director. The Medical Director/Child Psychiatrist has a vital role within St. Joseph Orphanage.  This includes planning, organizing and directing major portions of the medical services within the overall SJO operation, including Outpatient services, Foster Care, Partial Hospitalization, Education and Residential Treatment Services. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: management, medication monitoring, psychiatric evaluation/assessments and conducting staff conferences for the discussion of diagnosis, treatment and discharge of patients.

Our Medical Director/Child Psychiatrist will confer with and advise members of the medical staff and allied personnel, schools, courts and other providers of service.  Consult individuals, groups or agencies in the community aimed at preventing childhood crises and emotional disorders and promote children’s well being.  Act as a consultant in unusual and difficult psychiatric cases and advise professional staff on a variety of medical problems.

Our ideal candidate must be a graduated physician of an accredited medical school, licensed to practice in the State of Ohio and be Board certified or eligible in child/adolescent psychiatry with documented experience in this area. Experience in hospital, residential and outpatient treatment settings with supervisory experience preferred.
