A Message from NewPath’s Chief Impact Officer

What a year! Having joined NewPath Child & Family Solutions in January, I have had the great pleasure of meeting many of you. Your generosity and unwavering support of our agency is greatly appreciated.

Over the last several months, we have seen an incredible outpouring of love from donation drives, monetary gifts, event attendees, and the investment of time. One such example was the success of our 2023 Heart & Hope Gala where we raised $105,411! You are an extension of our mission, and because of your investment in us, we can Ignite Hope and Change Futures in the lives of those who need us the most. Here is a spotlight on what we have been up to the last several months and a glimpse of the exciting things to come!

2023 Heart & Hope Gala Award Winners

These awards recognize the volunteers, donors, foster parents, and team members who go above and beyond to care for the children and families we support.

2023 Heart Award – Peter Baako

The Heart Award is presented to a member of the “behind-the-scenes” staff. While many of the children and families we support may never interact with these individuals, their passion and administrative support are truly at the heart of our organization.

“The most rewarding part of working with NewPath is the fact that I go home from work knowing I have made someone’s life better by being there for them and they rely on my support.” – Peter B.

2023 Hope Award – Chanette Douglas

The Hope Award is presented to a direct-care team member who truly ignites hope and provides results from expert, specialized, and comprehensive trauma-informed care. These passionate individuals dedicate themselves to an industry that is challenging but meaningful.

“I want to help them overcome any barriers they are facing as well as make a difference within the community.” – Chanette D.

2023 Spark Award – Jim Redmond

The Spark Award is presented to supporters who go above and beyond to invest in and grow NewPath’s mission. These dedicated volunteers, donors, and contributors truly help those that help others.

“There are thousands of things that need to be done in our community. Go do something.” – Jim R.

2023 Torch Award – Charlene & Gentel Pearson

The Torch Award is presented to foster parents who exceed their calling and shine brightly as a guiding beacon to illuminate a path for their peers to follow.

“It’s a joy to see little ones and teens grow and go on to be self-sufficient adults. I find joy knowing that we have helped so many children get on the right track.” – Charlene P.

Isaiah’s Story

Developing the Desire to Keep Trying

Isaiah* is six years old and recently attended a basketball camp hosted by NewPath’s Experiential Learning Program. Initially, he was excited to participate, but Isaiah hid against a wall shortly after the activities and skill stations began.

A NewPath team member approached him and asked what was wrong. With tears rolling down his face, Isaiah confessed he was embarrassed and frustrated because he didn’t know how to do any of the skills required to play.

The team member helped him realize that many kids in attendance didn’t know how to play and that everyone was here to learn together.

By the end of the camp, Isaiah was named MVP for the week by all three coaches because he was able to push past his fears and gain the desire to keep trying.

Holiday wish program

October-December 2023

NewPath provides holiday fun to 600+ children and teens so that they can experience the joy of the season, many for the first time. Any gift, big or small, will impact the lives of the children and families we support.

Cincinnati GIves

November 27-December 7

NewPath is participating in Cincinnati Magazine’s Cincinnati Gives fundraising challenge. This is a friendly competition with local nonprofits to win additional funds to further our mission of Igniting Hope. Changing Futures. Strengthen your investment by donating during the Cincinnati Gives campaign to help NewPath earn additional matching funds. Do more with every dollar—more for every child, every client, and our community.

Louie the Lion

NewPath’s Cuddliest Team Member

Meet Louie the Lion, NewPath’s newest and cuddliest team member. He might seem like just a little stuffed lion, but he has BIG responsibilities. For many, the lion symbolizes bravery and strength. For enrolled NewPath youth, Louie also represents HOPE. NewPath is a positive source of renewal, where children and families turn to recover and rebuild strength in the aftermath of traumatic situations.
