Heart Meets Home: Virtual Foster Care Info Session Sparks Hope in Cincinnati & Dayton

Cincinnati & Dayton, OH — Behind every door in our community is the potential for a child to find safety, stability, and belonging. On July 28 at 6:00 p.m., NewPath Child & Family Solutions is bringing that hope to life through a free Zoom event: Becoming a Foster Parent 101. Specifically geared toward residents of Cincinnati and Dayton, this session is designed to answer questions, share stories, and empower locals to explore foster parenting in a welcoming, no-pressure environment.

Right now, more than 15,000 children are in foster care across Ohio — but there are only about 7,300 licensed foster homes to care for them. That gap means too many children are waiting for the love and stability they deserve. With over 40% of those children aged 11 and older, the need for families willing to care for teens is especially urgent.

Attendees will hear from real foster parents, connect with NewPath team members, and gain a clear picture of what it truly means to open your heart and home.

“I thought I needed to be perfect to foster,” says one NewPath foster parent. “But what these kids need isn’t perfection — it’s presence. It’s someone who shows up, listens, and believes in them.”

And for those curious but unsure? There’s no obligation to commit — just an invitation to learn. As a small thank you, all Ohio residents who both register and attend will be entered to win a $50 Amazon gift card, which will be mailed directly to the winner.
