Celebrating National Adoption Month
Vitor’s Bistro & Sushi Bar invites the community to “Dine With a Purpose” and support children and families served by NewPath.
Dine With a Purpose at Vitor’s Bistro in Honor of National Adoption Month (Bright, IN) — This November, in recognition of National Adoption Month, Vitor’s Bistro & Sushi Bar invites the community to “Dine With a Purpose” and support children and families served by NewPath Child & Family Solutions.
This special fundraiser is deeply personal for Chef Vitor, who shares:
“I grew up in foster care… and I MADE IT. I want to support an organization that I wish I had growing up—one that helps kids who often fall through the cracks.”
Challenges Youth Face After Aging Out of Foster Care
- Homelessness: 20–38% of youth who age out of foster care experience homelessness by age 26.
- Substance Use: Former foster youth who are homeless show high rates of substance use, often linked to trauma and lack of support.
Up to 40% of foster youth report experiencing some form of abuse, which correlates with later substance use. - Education & Employment: Fewer than 3% of youth who age out earn a college degree.
Only 55% are employed by age 21.
