New Chief People Officer

Welcome John Parran, Chief People Officer!

NewPath Child & Family Solutions (formerly St. Joseph Orphanage) announces the hiring of John Parran as Chief People Officer. John comes to NewPath from Meritor Inc, a leading global supplier of drivetrain, mobility, braking and aftermarket solutions for commercial vehicle and industrial markets. John’s primary role as Manager of Talent Management was to lead employee engagement, change management, and talent development initiatives at the Meritor Aftermarket, Trailer, and Industrial businesses. In this role, he worked with employees and business groups, at all levels, to design training and development programs. Additionally, he instituted employee engagement initiatives to make Meritor one of the happiest, most productive places to work. In other words, he launched training assessments, facilitation, and strategic planning for cultural health.

Below are some of John’s achievements while at Meritor:

1. Created a mid-level leadership development program that connected entry-level and advanced leadership development programs. Which created a continuous pathway of development for aspiring leaders.

2. Assisted in creating and implementing a host of virtual development initiatives. These include the COVID-19 pandemic, on-demand training, “live” virtual training, manager peer groups, a virtual work toolkit, and more.

3. Built and facilitated a wide series of professional development courses for front-line employees including: leadership development, computer skills and professional skills.

Additionally, John has done extensive work in leadership and organizational development, strategic planning and many other professional development programs for numerous non-profits in the Greater Cincinnati Area, including: Excel Leadership Academy, Choices Foster Care, The Northern KY Chamber of Commerce, The Northern KY Accountability Group, Supply Chain OKI and Higher Education Mentoring Initiative.

In fact, many NewPath employees have worked with John already as he has provided many professional development trainings. These programs included effective communication, change management, and conflict resolution. His passion for educating and coaching in a team environment is inspiring. Additionally, John has been engaged in a consultative role with the Executive Team in building a cascading vision and strategic planning effort for the agency.

John began his NewPath journey on January 4, 2021. More specifically he will be coaching, mentoring, professional development and training, HR and focus on NewPath culture. In his transition into NewPath he has been engaging many departments to learn about NewPath’s impact on children and families in the Greater Cincinnati area.

When asked, ‘Why come to NewPath now?’ John shared, “NewPath does some of the best work in children’s mental and behavioral health, hands down. I have been struck by the passion and drive of the employees combined with the aspirations and honesty of the leadership team. I am very excited to join this team to help children and families on the road to recovery through hope and healing.”

Residing in Blue Ash, Ohio, John and his wife Prari have five active boys. For fun, the Parran family enjoys outdoor activities such as rock climbing, camping, kayaking, and hiking. Additionally, they are avid board game players and music buffs!
