But what does that impact look like? We had the opportunity to sit down with Acquanette Lindsey, a former resident, and hear first-hand the difference our organization made in her life.

Meet Acquanette Lindsey

“Finally, I could focus on what a child should focus on. If it weren’t for a place where I felt safe, I would probably still be running.”

Troubles at home led to Acquanette entering Ohio’s child welfare system. From there, she bounced in and out of different foster homes. Even though she stayed with kind and welcoming foster families, her past trauma caused her to miss her original family. NewPath’s Residential Intervention Services offered her a sense of belonging through community and safety in a healing environment until she could return home. Today, Acquanette has healed from her past. She has grown and moved forward with her family. Acquanette is leading a successful career as a Victim Advocate with the District Attorney’s Office.

We care for nearly 5,000 children & families a year who are struggling with mental health and behavioral concerns. Our programs and individualized services provide healing, hope, and opportunity for children and families. We focus on the specialized treatment and educational needs of the individuals we serve.

What was once St. Joseph Orphanage, founded in 1829, has evolved into an innovative agency with a strong connection to our heritage and history dating back two centuries.
